On Friday 1st September, Thinking Schools Academy Trust officially welcomed Bay Education trust and their schools- Paignton Academy, King Ash Academy and Curledge Street Academy- to our Trust. Staff and students at each of the schools were joined by CEO Stuart Gardner, Director of Culture and Development Mandy Gage, as well as other senior leaders in Teaching and Support staff roles.
Paignton Academy, King Ash Academy and Curledge Street Academy will play a significant role in Thinking Schools’ already strong Torbay Hub. The academies' names, admissions, values and staff, including headteachers and teachers, will remain the same. School governors will also continue to play an influential role in the running of the academies.
All three schools are committed to continually enhancing its provisions for students and future proofing them with the skills and knowledge needed to lead successful and happy lives in today’s world. Joining the Trust is a natural and exciting progression for the schools who will work alongside the Trust’s expert senior leadership team, sharing knowledge, resources and best practice with other academies through the Trust’s collaborative networks.
Gavin Jones, Chair of Paignton Regional Governing Body, said:
“We are delighted to be able to embark on the next phase of our journey. As a small trust, the opportunity to join a larger trust that is so well regarded in the sector would provide us with many excellent opportunities. This will support a greater capacity for providing quality first education for our students and will also provide some exciting opportunities for collaboration with other schools both locally and further afield. This larger learning community will provide further opportunities for us to inspire success in all that we do.”
Stuart Gardner, Chief Executive Officer at Thinking Schools Academy Trust, added:
“We are delighted to welcome Bay Education Trust and all of its students and colleagues into the Thinking Schools Academy Trust community. We are a family of schools that work together to transform the life chances of all children and young people, and we are committed to providing outstanding education.”
