Rochester Grammar School 2024 IB Results Day

Rochester Grammar School students celebrate sweep of high IB grades

Sixth Form students at Rochester Grammar School (RGS) are celebrating another year of outstanding International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) results.

Rochester Grammar School offers this exciting curriculum in the Sixth Form to allow students to develop their full potential and to offer an internationally recognised education.

The IBDP is designed to prepare students for university. Students are graded out of 7 in three higher subjects and three standard subjects across a range of disciplines. Students also complete a Theory of Knowledge course, an Extended Essay and 150 hours of CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service), covering non-academic activities such as volunteering, learning new skills and community projects. Students are graded out of 45 for the entire IBDP.

This year, Rochester Grammar students have achieved an impressive average point score of 34, with nearly 20% of students scoring over 40 points, which is the equivalent to gaining A*A*A at A level.

As always there were some real highlights. Vanessa Lim achieved the maximum point score of 45, this puts her in the top 0.7% of students globally who study the IB and she is taking up a place to study Aeronautical Engineering at Imperial College London.
