On 24th August, students across our schools in Kent, Portsmouth, Plymouth, Torbay and Essex collected their GCSE results.
The schools reflected that students have worked tirelessly to make excellent progress and have truly excelled themselves. As a Trust we are extremely proud of their acheivements.
Most of our students will continue their studies within our Trust for A-Levels, and we look forward to welcoming them back in September. We wish good luck to those moving on to different avenues.
Holcomber Grammar School saw particular success in many subjects including Chemistry, Maths, Physics and Art Photography, and Principal Lee Preston remarked: “I am delighted for our students receiving their GCSE results today. They have worked incredibly hard over the last two years and it is fantastic to see their dedication rewarded with an excellent suite of results.
“We are excited to see what the future holds for them and look forward to welcoming many of them back to our sixth form in September. We would like to say a huge thank you to all our students, parents, carers, staff and local community for your support and encouragement.
Collecting her results at Goodwin Academy, Shannon, who achieved an 8 in English Language and English Literature, as well as a Distinction* in Media, said: “I am really happy with my grades; I wasn’t expecting to do so well in English.”

Thinking Schools Academy Trust seeks to Transform the Life Chances for all our young people and students; to provide them with the best opportunities possible. Collecting their GCSE results today, students will be able to open many doors to embark upon the next steps in their education and we wish to congratulate them once more for their hard work and success on results day.
