Young Voices 2024

Pupils from Cedar Children's Academy, All Faiths Children's Academy, The Gordon Children's Academy and New Horizons Children's Academy come together to join a choir of over 9,000 children at this year's Young Voices concert.

On Tuesday 16th January, children from our Medway primaries took part in the Young Voices concert at the London O2 Arena.

The children from All Faiths Children’s Academy, The Gordon Children’s Academy, Cedar Children’s Academy and New Horizons Children’s Academy had been practising the different songs, medleys and dance moves since September and finally all came together to make up a choir of 9027 children singing in unison.

The children arrived for a dress rehearsal where they perfected their numbers and additional lyrics learnt on the day to support the performers. Throughout the concert, the children sang their hearts out and accompanied the artists including, MC Grammar and Natalie Williams. They also danced the night away with performances by Urban Striders and even took part in a dance battle against their parents.

In preparation for the event, a dress rehearsal concert for parents to watch was held at Cedar Children’s Academy.  and included children from all our Strood schools. The children all showed real confidence and determination as this was the first time they had sung without the lyrics to all the songs and in front of an audience.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience with, many of them commenting:
